FAQs
VIRTUAL LESSONS/Q&A's/Zoom Bombs

What happens if I book a lesson and the Artist has to reschedule?
Broadway Booker guarantees that we will help you find a time for your lesson. If 60 days passes and we are unable to book your lesson, you will be refunded the full amount.

Can I record my lesson?
Most artists will be ok with you recording your lesson. Please ask the artist at the beginning of your lesson. Do not post your lesson on social media (photos are fine).

An emergency came up and I have to move my lesson. What should I do?
Contact Broadway Booker immediately at bwaybooker@gmail.com. Broadway Booker has a strict 24 hour cancel/change policy. If you inform us after the 24 hour window, you will lose the lesson.

What do I need to have prepared for my lesson?
Please prepare to work on one song. The student is responsible for any accompaniment. Preferably a karaoke track and not a cast recording.

Is Zoom the only option for lessons?
While we prefer to use Zoom, we can also use Skype if needed. Please let us know immediately upon booking if you would like to use Skype.

Can I have other people join my voice lesson?
You are welcome to have someone observe your lesson, but only one student may work with the teacher per booking.

What is the difference between a "voice lesson" and "acting through song?"
Both lessons include some vocal technique and storytelling work. However, "voice lessons" lean more towards vocal technique training while "acting through song" focuses more on the "why" of your song and less on the vocal technique.

What is a Zoom Bomb?
A Zoom Bomb is when one of our Broadway stars "unexpectedly" drops into your Zoom meeting to sing a song or just say "Hi" and chat. They last 5-10 minutes. Broadway Booker must be given the Zoom details at least 1 hour in advance of your requested Zoom Bomb.

LIVE EVENTS
What are the "Service Fees?"
The performers and musicians get paid 100% of their booking commission, which is unheard of in this industry! The Service Fees are the administrative fees that keep Broadway Booker up and running.

By submitting a request, does that confirm that I have booked a performer?
No, all submissions are sent to our scheduling department to confirm artist availability. If the artist you've requested isn't available, we will contact you with alternative performers.

My event has been postponed/cancelled. Can I get a refund?
If you cancel/postpone your event at least 14 or more days out, you will get a full refund. If you cancel/postpone 7-14 days before your event, you will get a 75% refund minus the service fee. If you cancel/postpone 2-7 days before your event, you will receive a 50% refund minus the service fee. If you cancel within 48 hours of your event you will not be refunded. No exceptions can be made.

Why are you asking for my phone number and email and what will it be used for?
Broadway Booker needs your contact information because there are some follow up questions that we need answers to once an artist is booked, such as the song list and dress code. Your contact information will not be given to any third parties.

Who is the additional person traveling with the performer(s)?
Some performers opt to travel with security. The additional travel costs are already included in their rate.

The location of my event has changed. How do I inform the performer of the new address?
No changes in venue are allowed without informing Broadway Booker first. Clients must first communicate the change to Broadway Booker and we will then communicate with the performer(s) with the new address.

The time of my event has changed. How do I inform the performer of the new time?
All time changes must be relayed to Broadway Booker and we will inform the performer of the new time.

Do the performers come with their own sound equipment?
Yes, the performers come with everything they will need to perform. Please note that we might reach out with some technical questions as your event approaches to ensure the sound quality is optimal for the performance. This makes it imperative to include the venue details in your booking.

How do I inform the performer of the desired type of dress for my event?
Any specific dress requirements must be relayed directly to Broadway Booker at least 1 week prior to the event. If you are booking an event that will take place in less than 7 days, please be aware that the performer will do their best to accommodate your outfit requests.
